PowerStream announces ‘3 ways to save you money’ campaign Utility rolls out residential conservation programs that can make a difference
YORK REGION, ON – As electricity consumers across the province participate in Ontario’s first Energy Conservation Week, PowerStream announced today the roll out of their ‘3 ways to save you money’ campaign to help promote conservation programs the utility will be delivering to residential customers in Aurora, Markham, Richmond Hill and Vaughan. The campaign, featuring this summer’s Ontario Power Authority (OPA) sponsored residential conservation initiatives – Every Kilowatt Counts Summer Sweepstakes, peaksaver® and The Great Refrigerator Roundup – involves a two-week local newspaper advertising blitz followed bythe distribution of a direct mail brochure to all residential electricity customers in PowerStream’s service territory.
Every Kilowatt Counts Summer Sweepstakes encourages residential customers to reduce their summer electricity use, when demand is the highest. If customers reduce their consumption by 10% compared to last summer, they are entered in a contest for the chance to win great prizes. peaksaver® participants receive $25 and a free Honeywell thermostat, valued at $250, installed in their homes or businesses by a certified technician at no charge. This thermostat provides customers with the ability to control the temperature in their home remotely through the internet.
The Great Refrigerator Roundup is a hassle-free way to remove your old working fridge and freezer – some waste from $120 to $150 in electricity yearly -- in an environmentally responsible manner. Crews remove them for free, right from your home.
“By bringing the promotion of these three residential programs together under the common overarching theme of ‘3 ways to save you money’, we are able to communicate to our customers a key benefit of participating in these conservation initiatives more efficiently, and with greater More information on any of these programs is available on the PowerStream website atwww.powerstream.ca/conservation or by calling the utility’s conservation hotline at 1-866-337- 8089.
