The Markham Theatre season opening gala was a night of music, comedy, and drama. Six sneak peek performances whetted audience’s appetite for the upcoming 2008/2009 season in a special preview show.

Markham Mayor Frank Scarpitti graced the evening, welcomed town councilors, and acknowledged the importance of arts and culture for the Town of Markham. The theatre is reaching out to youth by offering discounted ticket prices to both high school and university students, aptly name UGO and eyeGO, respectively.

The new season brings winterlude afternoon matinees, family plays, comedy, and music from all genres across the globe. A special Gala Fundraising Event featuring Natalie MacMaster & her Band takes place September 27. More information on show times and tickets can be found at www.markhamtheatre.ca.
