Unionville - The Unionville Feis, one of Canada’s foremost Irish dance competitions celebrated its 10th anniversary on July 13 at the Crosby Community Centre in Unionville. More than 500 Irish Dance competitors from around the globe will participated in this one-day event for all ages in traditional dance, arts and culture
A highlight of the annual Celtic Arts Festival, the Feis is hosted by the O’Donnell School of Traditional Irish Dance, one of Canada’s top studios. Annually the Feis attracts families, from across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, for a free fun-filled day. A new addition to this year’s Feis was the Tir Na nOg showcase, as dance-loving tiny tots, under 5 years, captured the hearts of spectators on the outdoor stage.
Anne Marie O’Donnell, co-chair of the Feis, and founder of the hosting dance school, was heart-warmed by the on-going community support for the dance competition. “It’s an important year for our Feis. We are delighted to come back every year to Unionville and that Irish dance and culture is vibrant and celebrated in Ontario.” |
