Were you a winner of a $25 gift certificate from the "Best Dressed Window" contest?

Saturday November 29 was the first Main Street Markham Santafest, a day-long celebration of holiday fun, and what a great day it was! The annual Santa Claus parade kicked things off, followed by Stantafest, which featured fabulous food, entertainment, bands, and street performers. The highlight of the evening was the Festival of Lights Grand Tree Lighting ceremony, fireworks, and of course, a visit from Santa Claus.

Mayor Frank Scarpitti announced the winners of the "Best Dressed Window" contest. Over 550 votes were submitted by people from as far away as Halifax, Nova Scotia. And...the Best Dressed Windows on Main Street Markham for 2008 are: Carson and Weeks Insurance Brokers - 1st place, Sebastian Beauty Salon - 2nd place, Eleven Joseph Fashions - 3rd place, and Focus on Flowers received "honorable mention".
