Markham, ON – The Town of Markham has appointed Eric Lariviere as the new Manager of the Markham Theatre for Performing Arts.

Mr. Lariviere has worked with festivals, events and facilities in both the USA and Canada. The Festival is a leading concert presenter with up to 150 concerts and outreach activities producing an economic impact of $20 million.

“The Markham Theatre has served our community for 25 years with excellence in the performing arts,” said Mayor Frank Scarpitti. “Mr Lariviere’s appointment will make a strong contribution to Council’s goal of engaging our community and building a strong cultural sector in Markham.”

Commenting on the appointment, Community and Fire Services Commissioner Brenda Librecz said she is impressed with the depth of Mr. Lariviere’s experience. “He is a dedicated and highly skilled professional who is well-recognized by his peers in the theatre community.
