2009 TOYS FOR TOTS CAMPAIGN
York Regional Police is excited to launch the 2009 Holiday Hero campaign in which members of our community, corporate partners can join together with the police to Be a Holiday Hero to a York Region family in need during the upcoming holidays.
The Toys for Tots Campaign, in partnership with the Canadian Tire Corporation, began in 1996 and so far has raised more than $250,000 worth of toys for kids during the holiday season.
This year, York Regional Police is combining the Toys for Tots Program and the Quiet Food Drive under the Holiday Hero Campaign, to help raise toys and food for our community.
Residents are encouraged to donate Canadian Tire money or cash at any participating York Region Canadian Tire Store during the campaign. The cash donations are used to purchase toys for those York Region children in need. Anyone wishing to donate a new, unwrapped toy and/or Canadian Tire money can also deliver it to any of the five York Regional Police headquarters over the duration of the campaign. Their locations and addresses may be obtained by visiting our website at www.yrp.ca, then click on About Us and then on the particular district.
