Have you marked your calendar yet to come out and participate. It's inside so you can go for your walk without freezing!
The local chapter of the Alzheimer's Society has organized a "Walk for Memories". They are asking you to help fight this afflication that is affecting so many.
Loren Freid, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of York Region is very aware of the huge challenges we're seeing demographically in York Region. "As the number of people with Alzheimer's disease soars, it's important to detect the disease earlier so we can provide care and education to those affected, including friends and family. We're asking everyone to join our Walk, so we can raise the funds needed to be the lifeline to the families in our community facing this disease now and in the future."
Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. at Centre Court just outside the Bay. The walk begins at 10:00 a.m. and is lead by The York Region Police Band. Things wrap up when the mall officially opens at 11 am.
This walk is stroller and wheelchair friendly!
