HOLIDAYS IN THE VILLAGE – A CELEBRATION FOR ALL RESIDENTS OF YORK REGON
The staff of the Community Safety Village of York Region and members of York Regional Police are inviting York Region residents to join us for the 4th Annual Holidays in the Village Celebration on Saturday, December 6, 2008, between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Community Safety Village is decorated for the festive season and hot chocolate and treats will be available as you take a horse drawn carriage ride through the winter wonderland, bright with holiday lights. The sound of music will fill the air as local choirs sing carols through the night. Children will have the opportunity to make their own festive crafts and should keep their eyes open for a visit from Santa Claus himself!
Representatives of the region’s diverse communities will be in attendance to share their cultural holiday celebrations through decorations, costumes and songs.
Members of the York Regional Police Community Services Bureau will answer questions related to winter safety, including winter driving and general safety messages for children.
Fire Educator Melanie Duke will provide a demonstration to children and parents in Sparky’s apartment on decorating safely for the holidays to avoid incidents of accidental fire.
Everyone is welcome and admission is FREE!! Donations to the York Regional Police Toys for Tots Program are appreciated.
The Community Safety Village of York Region is located in Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area at 3291 Stouffville Road (between Warden Avenue and Kennedy Road) in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
