MARKHAM, ON – As part of Markham’s strategic direction, Building Markham’s Future Together, residents are invited to participate in a series of public information meetings to learn about and discuss Markham’s priorities.
This is an opportunity for residents to share their thoughts on the steps and action plans Markham is taking to ensure it becomes a model sustainable community.
Monday, February 9 Growth Management and Transportation Learn about the development of Markham’s Growth Management Strategy and Transportation Strategic Plan, and how Markham will accommodate growth over the next 25 years. Topics will include why Markham has to grow differently and how we can move towards more sustainable community and transportation planning.
Monday, February 23 Diversity Help shape Markham’s Diversity Action Plan. Share your perspectives and ideas, discuss your needs and concerns, and help Markham create a community where everyone is included.
Monday, March 2 Integrated Leisure Master Plan Explore current and future trends in service delivery in libraries, cultural venues, recreation and parks. Hear from a panel of senior staff members and guests about the development of Markham’s Integrated Leisure Master Plan. Your feedback will help shape the recommendations that will influence Town of Markham Council decision making for the next 15 years.
Monday, March 9 Municipal Services – to be confirmed Learn about the innovative practices Markham has undertaken to enhance the services and value provided to the public. You will also have an opportunity to share your experiences and expectations with Town staff and Council
The meetings will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Markham Civic Centre, 101 Town Centre Boulevard. All members of the public are welcome. No registration is required. |
