QUEST FOR THE BEST MARKHAM AWARDS CEREMONY

MARKHAM, ON ~ Join Mayor Frank Scarpitti and Members of Council as they recognize and reward the top three Markham students and schools as winners of the Quest for the Best Markham contest.

When: Saturday, February 7, 2009 11:00 a.m.

Where: Markville Shopping Centre
Centre Court (Bottom of escalators)
5000 Hwy 7 East at McCowan Road

Featuring: Guest speaker Michael Smith from “Me to We” Responsible Style Local bands The Diverse Attraction and The Fitzpatrick Incident

Launched in October 2008, the online challenge gave students ages 11 to 18 the opportunity to share their ideas on the future of Markham and engaged them in helping Markham become a healthier and more vibrant community.

Prizes will be awarded to students based on their indivdual submissions and to schools based on their level of participation in the contest.
