Varley Gallery Hosts Canadian Fine Art Auction
Unmask Your Passion For Art – May 14, 2009
MARKHAM, ON – The Varley Art Gallery will host a live auction of over 100 pieces of original Canadian art on Thursday, May 14, 2009. The 11th annual fine art auction – Unmask Your Passion for Art – is an opportunity to purchase original Canadian art for your home or office. Revenues raised help support Varley Gallery acquisitions, exhibits, and art education programs and the Varley-McKay Art Foundation. Last year the auction raised more than $90,000 for programs.

The live auction will also feature local wines, culinary creations from local restaurants and caterers, and silent auction tables. A free preview of the live auction items takes place at the Varley Gallery on Wednesday, May 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Images of the auction artworks are posted at www.varleygallery.ca

Varley Art Gallery Background
Since 1997, The Varley Gallery has featured one of the largest collections of art by Frederick H. Varley, a member of the renowned Group of Seven artists. The Varley Gallery is committed to presenting some of the finest historical and contemporary art produced in Canada. Its acclaimed exhibitions have travelled across the country and in 2010 the Gallery will mount its first exhibit in the United States.
