The York Regional Police Community Services Bureau is pleased to welcome HGTV’s Disaster DIY host Brian Baeumler to the upcoming Crime Prevention Trade Show being held on November 6 and 7, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., at York Regional Police Headquarters located at 17250 Yonge Street in the Town of Newmarket.
York Regional Police is also encouraging businesses from across the region that offer our community enhanced safety and security options to participate in the show. Businesses from across the region in the industry, whether it is by selling safety-related products or providing safety training, can take part in this event. Vendor booths will be available for both days as an opportunity to showcase your product or service to visitors, including over 1,000 regional employees who work at this location. Vendor applications for this event are available on the home page of our website at www.yrp.ca.
York Regional Police is pleased to showcase Brian’s handyman skills, which can be traced back to an early age, when he and a friend started a summer business at the age of 14. Although his post-secondary education resulted in degrees in Political Science and Business, Brian’s passion was always working with his hands. After a short time as the owner of his own cargo company, Brian started his own construction company, Baeumler Quality Construction and hasn’t looked back. Brian will be at the Trade Show on Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. He will do a renovation presentation, followed by a meet and greet and autograph session.
In addition to vendor displays, a number of live demonstrations will take place, including an interactive self-defence demonstration and awareness seminars on Internet safety, identity theft, insurance fraud and debit card fraud. A St. John Ambulance car seat clinic will take place on a first-come, first-serve basis in the parking lot on Saturday, November 7, 2009, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A free barbeque will be offered by Rene’s Catering on both days of the show between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the roundabout on the south side of the building. In that same area, a bicycle registration and safety clinic will run on Saturday, November 7, 2009, from noon until 4 p.m.
