The staff of the Community Safety Village of York Region
and members of York Regional Police are inviting York Region residents to
join us for the 5th Annual Holidays in the Village Celebration on Saturday,
November 28th, 2009, between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
The Community
Safety Village
is decorated for the festive season and hot chocolate and treats will be
available as you take a horse-drawn carriage ride through the winter
wonderland, bright with holiday lights. The sound of music will fill
the air as local choirs sing carols through the night. Children will
have the opportunity to make their own festive crafts, decorate a gingerbread
cookie and should keep their eyes open for a visit from Santa Claus
himself!
Representatives of the region’s diverse
communities will be in attendance to share their cultural celebrations with
children and adults through decoration, costume and song.
Members of the York Regional Police Community Services
Bureau will answer questions related to winter safety, including winter
driving and general safety messages for children.
The Fire Educator at the Community Safety
Village will be
available to provide a demonstration to children and parents in
Sparky’s apartment on decorating safely for the holidays to avoid
incidents of accidental fire.
Everyone is welcome and admission is FREE!!
Donations to the York Regional Police Holiday Heroes are appreciated. Anyone
interested in contributing is encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for
donation.
The Community Safety Village of York Region is located
in Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area at 3291 Stouffville Road (between Warden Avenue
